About Me

Visual communication designer and artist blending fine arts with museum grade design expertise.

I'm Cihan, a designer who started in painting and printmaking before moving into communication design. I spent seven years in a fine art printing studio, producing archival pigment prints for galleries and artists. That work taught me how to see color, manage technical constraints, and understand how production decisions shape the final result. It's still the foundation of how I approach design.

Since then, I've worked across branding, editorial design, illustration, and digital interfaces. I like projects that sit between disciplines—identity systems that need print production knowledge, layouts that require typographic rigor, or apps that benefit from a visual storytelling approach. I'm not interested in chasing trends; I care more about clarity, context, and making things that feel considered.

I hold an MA in Communication Design and a BA in Painting. My background is cross-cultural—I've worked in Turkey and Germany, collaborated with international teams, and designed for different audiences and media. I'm currently based in Berlin and open to projects that value thoughtful, multidisciplinary design—whether that's in-house, freelance, or something more experimental.
